Do Not Be Afraid? Or Do Not Be Fearful?
We are told to fear not, not to worry, and not to doubt in a world that is filled with death all around us.
“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself.
Each day has enough trouble of it own.”
The book of Matthew tells us we shouldn’t even bother worrying about tomorrow, heck, when most of us are already planning our future decades out. So what do people mean when they say don’t worry, what does it mean not to have the Spirit of Fear, what does this all even mean?
Well, it is crucial to understand the difference between the Spirit of Fear and the feeling of being afraid. It is okay to feel nervous, that is the Spirit within letting you know to be careful. The Spirit of Fear is debilitating, causing you to make poor decisions and worst none at all. The Spirit of fear will never allow you to make a wise decision. It creates an intense amount of pressure and unnecessary doubting. The Spirit of fear will remove all emotions of optimism and worst the power to be able to think clearly.
The following are the scriptures where you can read why this was stated.
2 Timothy 1:7 - different versions -
1:7 For God hath not given us the Spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. KJV
1:7 For God gave us not a spirit of fearfulness, but of power and love and discipline. ASV
1:7 For the Spirit of God gave us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline. NLT
I ask for all those who are trapped by the Spirit of Fear, that you trust God, the creator of your life. It is my prayer, the creator who placed a gift in you and purpose, to release you from the Spirit of fear and replace that with the Spirit of a sound mind, the Spirit of Joy, and the Spirit of Spiritual Discernment.
Do you need to believe in God for God to answer your prayers? Would you go to work if you didn't believe they would pay you for the work you've done?
This is about relationship building, not religion or theology. Both serve its purpose, but talking to God is about a relationship.
What's the worst that will happen when you talk to God? He will talk back?
